Where’d January go? Is it REALLY time to pay the rent again?
What the heck have I been doing all month?
Honestly, just the usual. But slower. More deliberate. And admittedly, sometimes in a less motivated fashion. It’s that downward pull of winter exerting its force on me (and just about everyone I know). Don’t worry, I’ve still been doing plenty of working out and lots of this (only the leotard is a layer in winter) :
A periodic slowdown is, in fact, all good. We need all sorts of energies in this life. Every season has its energy, and its place. Hibernation is actually strangely productive…it allows us to gather energy, gives us time to reflect, and time to rejuvenate and to plan.
So yeah, I kind of have been hibernating, but fortunately, I’ve come up for air enough to allow tinkering in the kitchen. Goodies to share will follow soon (ish). Meanwhile, you can bet I’ll continue drinking of hot cocoa and definitely lots of this:
I’m also putting together Yoga retreats. One in Vermont is set to happen in May (dates announced soon). The Upstate New York Fall Harvest shindig in October is booked, and perhaps I’ll put together one or two more weekends sprinkled into early spring and mid-summer. We’ll see, and I’ll definitely keep ya’ll posted.
It’s weird for me to plan so far ahead, by the way. But it’s important to realize that I need to do some pre-planning. I can be a very “in-the-moment,” off-the-cuff kinda gal; pre-planning brings some balance to the situation.
Now excuse me while I dream about diving back underneath the covers and cuddling up again with some hot tea. Or cocoa. Ahem.
Could not agree with you more on this: “We need all sorts of energies in this life”! In our fast-paced lives we attrtibute slowing-down as a pathology sadly…
Absolutely. At times, that tamasic (sp?) energy can be pathological, but not always 😉
