Happy Nowruz, everybody! 🙂 Well, technically the big day of the Persian New Year is the spring equinox, which is tomorrow, but I figured now’s as good a time to spread the happiness. The weather here in New York is as fresh and spring-like as can be. Birds singing, tons of sun, and gorgeous blue skies. The flowers and trees haven’t quite caught up, but they soon will.
At the moment, I’m in a bit of Spring Cleaning Mode. As for Spring Cooking:
Here I am cooking kuku sabzi on live TV for Nowruz. This was on Good Day New York a.k.a Fox 5:
Hope you enjoyed the clip. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Thanks for your kind words, Nadia. Enjoy this lovely weekend! Xoxo.
Hi!!
I am so honored you found my blog!! I love your cooking clip! My mother and I love to cook anything and everything! We love tumeric and saffron! I can’t believe I found this and so sorry I didn’t get back to your comment sooner. I am notorious for checking several times a day and I can’t believe I missed it for so long.
Definitely adding this blog to the list!
Thanks!
Hi there! No worries about the delay in replying. I’m not always the fastest at getting back, though I do try real hard 😉 I ended up giving another cake recipe a whirl, and now I sure wish I’d tried yours instead, because the one I tried was a flop. Literally. But I’m doing a post on how I recycled the broken cake into a tasty trifle instead of crying and trashing it. LOL! Have a great week. Your blog is lots of fun, btw. Will check it out often.
Haha! Bria!
The first time I made that cake I mixed up the sugar for the icing and the sugar for the cake!! It was terrible! It was so awful I trashed it immediately and then blamed all the girls for talking to me too much in the kitchen! LOL!
I got over it, remade it, and then posted the better version- so I know exactly how you feel.
Take Care!
Sounds like we’re kindred spirits as far as cake mishaps go. Love it 🙂
Bria
Congratulations on your TV clip! You look just adorable and so so pretty! It must have been nerve wrecking though.
Happy Nowruz to you and your family.
Thanks for the Nowruz greeting! The segment was fun, but the prep was a big nerve-wracking. Once I was on set, it was like being in The Zone. Ha ha!
Bria, you are soo sooo sooooooo awesome!
Happy New Year to you!! xoxo
Thanks, hon. You’re a doll! Happy New Year to you too. Can’t wait to hear all about your upcoming cooking classes. Good luck with them.
Wow Bria~ I just saw this video! You were superb in the TV show! Loved the recipe too!
Congrats Hun, you are a sweetheart!
Happy Nowruz!!! 🙂
Thanks, Sara! Glad you liked the clip. It was a fun segment 🙂
Giiiiiiiiirrrrlll, they need to take that dumb ho Sandra Lee’s horrible cooking show on Food Network off the air and give you you’re own! You’re a natural!
omg *YOUR own*, not you’re. I’m embarrassed to make an error like that on a journalism major’s blog.
Ha ha, Mona, thanks. Let’s hope someone at FN sees the light 😉 Don’t worry about the typo. Look closely, I’m sure you’ll find some on here. Ha!
