I still cannot believe Gourmet magazine is shutting down. What a loss. The thought of Ruth Reichl drawing unemployment checks seems so, well, wrong.
Gourmet made it a point to cover foods from all corners of the world. Here’s an article on Persian food and hospitality that ran in July 2009. It’s written by Firoozeh Dumas. I read her book “Funny in Farsi,” and love it. Check it out if you can.
